As part of our video series profiling individuals with interesting career paths, we recently invited Adeolu Adesanya, lead economist at National Grid Gas, to reflect on his career. Adeolu’s job looks at evaluating economic cases for investment across our infrastructure, assessing when it needs to be changed or renewed.

Before working at National Grid Gas, Adeolu worked in a management consultancy, helping companies make business improvements. During his time there, he was excited most by opportunities in the energy industry. When he sought to apply to National Grid Gas, a top 20 firm, he was inspired by its “bringing energy to life” tagline.

In the video, Adeolu talks about what he likes most about working at National Grid Gas and the amazing energy of his colleagues.  He also loves the freedom he has to think and pursue ideas.

Adeolu believes he and his colleagues make a real difference to the world of energy and he’s proud to be part of a company that’s working towards achieving one the most pressing issues of our time - decarbonisation.
